Record numbers to attend This is Gold Coast

Gold Coast Business Events is preparing to host a record number of meeting planners for its signature event, This is Gold Coast Business Exchange.

The event will showcase the Gold Coast’s strengths as a world-class destination for conferences, exhibitions and incentive programs for associations and corporate groups.

The Commonwealth Games inspired program will host 56 meeting influencers from Australia, New Zealand and UK with the potential to bring millions of dollars in future business events to the city.

In a first for the event, an exclusive program for Professional Conference Organisers (PCO’s) has been introduced with 19 senior representatives arriving on Wednesday 24 May. The program will feature a welcome event at Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, and a lunch at creative hub and street market, Miami Marketta.

PCO’s will also have the opportunity to meet around 50 Gold Coast venues and specialist suppliers at a trade exhibition at Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Other events planned will showcase the latest upgrades to The Star Gold Coast at an ‘Opening Ceremony’, as well as a ‘Festival of Fun’ at Sea World Resort & Conference Centre. A Commonwealth Games inspired themed breakfast will also be held at RACV Royal Pines Resort.

A post famil program will include a dinner at Palazzo Versace Gold Coast and a picnic by the creek at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards.

Director of Gold Coast Business Events Anna Case said the event continues to inspire extraordinary business events on the Gold Coast.

“This is Gold Coast offers an incredibly compelling combination for organisers wanting to deliver a successful business event. Seeing first-hand the venues, sampling our cuisine and seeing our specialist suppliers create world-class events leaves meeting planners with the ideas and connections to create an unforgettable event,” she said.

The program is an initiative of Gold Coast Business Events in collaboration with major meeting and accommodation venues and specialists suppliers to the business events industry.

In 2016, This is Gold Coast Business Exchange generated over $13.5 million in leads for future conferences and meetings on the Gold Coast and organisers are hoping to raise the bar further this year.

This is Gold Coast Business Exchange will be held from Wednesday 24 May – Saturday 27 May 2017 with a post famil program concluding on Sunday 28 May.
