Regional Victoria events on show

As Melbourne attends Business Events Victoria’s (BEV), regional Victoria’s best business event destinations and venues will be on show with over 170 event buyers from across the country in attendance.

The second annual Regional Victorian Showcase will take place on Thursday 26 May at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne, with exhibitors from Geelong and the Bellarine, Yarra Ranges, Mornington Peninsula, Ballarat, Bendigo, Southern Grampians and the Murray showcasing the best of what regional Victoria has to offer in the way of business event locations.

Business Events Victoria executive officer, Chris Porter, said that the 2016 event is set to be bigger and better than last year, with BEV partnering with the Executive Assistant Network to encourage its 1500 member network to attend the event.

“We are really excited to see the Regional Showcase being so well received by the industry and it is fast becoming a ‘must attend’ event for buyers and organisers,” Porter said.

“The Regional Showcase is a great way for destinations and venues to build relationships with event buyers and industry stakeholders. We had great feedback after the 2015 event, with buyers being exposed to venues that they were not previously aware of, and many venues reporting genuine booking enquiries as a result of their involvement. This is what the Showcase is all about,” Porter added.

There are 33 exhibitors this year, up from 25 in 2015, and a 50 percent increase in attendance numbers, with $6,000 worth of prizes to give away on the night and a performance by the Scared Weird Little Guys.

“I encourage the event industry to embrace the showcase, come along and see what is on offer, and enjoy some great food, wine and networking,” Porter said.

The Business Events Victoria Regional Showcase is taking place on Thursday 26 May 2016 at Grand Hyatt Hotel, 123 Collins Street Melbourne from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. For further information please call BEV on 03 8662 5428.

Following the success of this event, the Showcase will then head to Sydney on 18 August 2016.

Business Events Victoria celebrates 20 years in 2016 with celebrations to be held in August.
