The Big Cheese with The Anam’s Herbert Laubichler-Pichler

The Big Cheese this week is with Herbert Laubichler-Pichler who is the General Manager at The Anam. Lets take it away!

The great thing about my job is
We work with human beings, not with machines.

The challenge for industry is
We work with human beings, not with machines.

My greatest achievement is
Becoming a grandfather.

The biggest thing in MICE this year will be
The meeting space is changing and traditional ‘boardroom-style’ meetings will be held in more creative settings. These settings will allow for a cozier and more familiar atmosphere to enhance the feeling of being together as a team. Where I am the GM right now, The Anam, which is situated on Vietnam’s pristine Long Beach on Cam Ranh’s northern peninsula, we can offer such creative settings due to a very clever combination of indoor and outdoor meeting facilities, be it in the garden, on the large lawns or in one of our meeting rooms. Even the beach can be used as meeting venue.

I try to relax by
Listening to good music. Can be anything from classical to rock.

I don’t understand why
People make life more complicated as it is already complicated enough.

My favourite venue is
Dependent on my mood, but generally in the Austrian Alps.

I’ve always wanted to travel to
South Africa.

I am scared to death of
The deep sea.

I can’t live without
Daily news. I consider myself a bit of a news addict.

I really wish I had
More time.

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be
Tiger Woods, Sebastian Vettel, Eric Clapton and Lionell Messi.
