The trend for healthy corporate events

The trend for healthy corporate events

Wellbeing and nourishment are the biggest trends of late when it comes to corporate meetings and staff engagement, and there’s more than a handful of new initiatives that point to this trend growing further.

Recent studies have actually shown that properly designed wellness programs can deliver significant benefits, with an average rate of return of between 2:1 and 5:1 for every dollar spent.

With that in mind, hotels and organisations everywhere are latching on.

The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa have launched their Conference Wellness Program in partnership with The Wellness People, delivering a whole range of all-inclusive corporate wellness experiences.

That includes everything from morning movement sessions to wellness seminars and healthy and nourishing menu options, with the place designed to nourish the soul and reenergise the mind.

The Byron at Byron Corporate Wellness Program is designed for either 1, 2 or 3 days of conferencing. Each day can consist of three different activities for delegates – a physical activity session such as group yoga or boxing on the beach, a wellness or team building workshop and keynote presentations.

The Resort team has also designed menus with a focus on healthy living, with delegates dining on the likes of antioxidant filled Matcha and Chia seed pudding for breakfast, light and fresh Lettuce Wraps with turmeric infused chicken, mixed salad and toasted pumpkin seeds for lunch and Vegetable Pad Thai with zucchini noodles for dinner.

“It has been great working and planning with The Byron at Byron in putting together their intensive Corporate Wellness Programs,” she said.

“Employee health and wellness programs have been growing in popularity over the last couple of years, with over 50 per cent of companies in Australia now offering some kind of health promotion service,” explained health and wellness expert Stephanie Stone, from The Wellness People.

“It is such a pleasure to be a part of this movement and to see the positive benefits for not only the individuals, but the companies as a whole.”

The Novotel Hotels & Resorts is another chain getting in on the action, releasing its InBalance Meetings, off the back of launching its InBalance brand with pro surfer Sally Fitzgibbons as ambassador.

Designed to take care of the body and mind to achieve positive meeting outcomes, the InBalance Meeting concept consists of five signature elements which bring the program to life.

Creating an arrival and meeting room experience which inspires each participant to personally contribute to the meeting agenda is one of the key elements of the InBalance program, as is creating comfortable and flexible work spaces which can easily be adapted.

To help delegates perform at their best, InBalance Meetings includes a signature Nurture Yourself food menu that has been curated by renowned nutritionist Michele Chevalley-Hedge. The menus have been designed with clean, whole food ingredients with minimal sugar to support concentration and sustain productivity.

As part of the program, virtual 30 minute work-out session led by Novotel Wellness Ambassador, Sally Fitzgibbons can also be worked into any conference or event. Fitballs and yoga mats are available for delegates and InBalance local area maps are provided for those that want to go for a walk or run during break sessions.
