The great thing about my job is… Developing a great team and product and working with fabulous clients – I thoroughly enjoy showing off what we can do and where.

The challenge for industry is…The lack of lead time.  Increasingly, the corporate world operates fiscally on a quarterly basis, making it difficult to forecast and strategise. Of course, this isn’t exclusive to our industry, it is proving a pattern across the board.

My greatest achievement is… Without doubt, our son. Sitting his HSC this year, sometimes we watch with amazement given our very busy and scattered work lives. He has grown into a great lad.

The biggest thing in MICE this year will be… The reinvention of Sydney as a leading business events destination! With the partnerships established and the investment into the MICE product, what we have on offer is second-to-none.

I try to relax by… Getting onto and into the water as much as possible – not so easy this time of year.

I don’t understand why… The corporate world more and more is reacting rather than being proactive by operating on a quarter to quarter fiscal basis. It stifles innovation and opportunity.

Currently the album playing on my iPod is… The Foo Fighters at the gym and for dinner, a nice Café del Mar compilation.

My favourite venue is… In Australia, The Quarantine Station in Manly – a blank canvas for a spectacular event. And offshore, the foot of the Pyramids of Giza.

I am scared to death of… Vacuum cleaners (according to my husband).

I can’t live without… My family – there is no other answer to this.

Blackberry or iPhone… Unfortunately, I have both! Though the iPhone wins out for innovation.

I really wish I had… More time to travel.

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be…  Obama – he is intriguing; Ellen Degeneres – genuine and just a laugh; Father Chris Riley – who is truly inspirational. Finally, to add another dimension, Dave Grohl.
